VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
I apologize for the last minute changes! I know that your families are all busy and when schedules change at the last minute it often throws the whole family into a spin.
What we WILL be doing is going to the Dragons Game Monday night...We will leave church @6pm and return after the game. Cost of the game is $7 (bring $$ if you want to eat at the game).
No Dragons or Camping May 9th
Monday May 12th Dragons game only
Leave church @ 6pm. Cost is $7
If you're interested in what happened, here's the scoop.
Several Months ago I ordered the tickets using a mail in form. A few weeks ago, after not hearing back from the Dragons Box office I called to find out if everything had gone through. I was told everything was in order and that we would receive the tickets in a few days. The tickets did arrive at the church shortly thereafter but since I was assured everything was in order I did not check the tickets themselves. Unfortunately Friday the 9th was unavailable when I placed the order, as was a second date I offered. What was available was Monday the 12th (my third option, but not really one I expected to have to use). For some reason we were never notified of the dates that ended up being booked.
I called the Dragons and tried to find a way for us to attend tomorrow night but they were not able to help.
So I have 30 tickets for Monday May 12th @ 7pm.
Come join me for some of America's Favorite Pastime!

Dragons and Campouts and Cedar Point OH MY!
Well, this is the blog you've all been waiting for...
keep reading to find details about our Dragons Game and Campout and... Cedar Point!!!
Friday May 9th we (all New Heights Students) will be heading to Fifth Third Field to watch the Dayton Dragons play! I have plenty of tickets so invite your friends! The Cost for this event is $15...pay me that evening! We will leave the church parking lot at 6pm. Following the game the buses will return to WHBC parking lot. All Junior Highers (Ignite) will be picked up at that time. All High Schoolers (Revolution) that plan on attending the Campout will stay at the church.
For the Campout we will leave the church once everyone is ready and head to the Erlandson's (Dan and Louanne) home in Waynesville. Bring a sleeping bag, clothes and pillow. We will set up guys on one side of the yard and girls on the other. We'll have a fire in the fire pit, play some games and hang out. We will eat breakfast on Saturday and be back at church by 10am.
Sign up in the Youth Room!
June 17th-18th Revolution ONLY (high school)
We will leave the church parking lot around 3pm on Tuesday June 17th. We will head to Elyria OH where we will stay at a church overnight. Wednesday June 18th we will get up and head to Cedar Point for the day. We will return to church after our day of fun at the park. We will leave when the park closes at 10 and should arrive back at WHBC around 2 am.
The cost is $50 plus food money. You need to bring money for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for Wednesday. Dinner Tuesday will be provided for you.
You must sign up and pay by Sunday June 1st!

Cubbie Bear Fair and more...
Hey Oh,
So Tomorrow night April 23rd is the Annual Cubbie Bear Fair! We are once again going to be helping with this event! We will not have our normal activities! When you arrive at church, gather in the foyer near the stairs to the basement and wait for instructions. Please don't stay home, thinking this won't be fun! This is always a great opportunity for us to serve the church and hang out with some cool kids! We'll be done at 8 like usual!
I will be on vacation starting the end of this weekend so we have some special speakers!! YEAH!! Mr. Joel Harbaugh will be sharing on Sunday April 27th and Mr. Tim Erlandson will speak Wednesday April30th and Sunday May 4th! I'm actually sad I'm missing these men speak! But not enough to skip my vacation... : )

Upcoming events
Hello Everyone,
This Sunday (April 6th) I need help from a handful of people. My daughter, Caroline, is doing a science fair project. She is testing to see who can identify smells better, guys or girls. We will be testing Sunday morning after church. We should be done with the testing by 1. We will feed any participants as well. Please let me know if you can help. If you've already told me don't worry about it.
Next Friday, April 11th we are having a SNAC from 6:45-8:30. We will be watching a movie or playing games outside, if the weather is nice. Bring $5. Junior High and High School are welcome.
Friday April 18th we will be hosting Secret Church from 7pm-1am. This intense teaching is lead by David Platt from Birmingham Alabama will focus on "The Cross and Everyday Life". Cost is $10 and covers the cost of a book you will use to take notes. This activity is open to the whole church. Go to Secretchurch.org for more details.
Saturday April 19th is our regular MVWC workday. Come out from 9:45-12:15.
Sunday April 20th there is no Youth Group. The Easter Program will be held during both services.
Friday May 9th we have tickets to a Dayton Dragons Game at 7pm. We will be going to the game and then High Schoolers will be splitting into Guys and Girls. Guys will go camping. Girls will be sleepovering. We will return to the church at 10am for pick up. More details will come as we get closer.
Saturday May 17th is the MVWC Walk for Life. We will be serving them by helping with parking and setting up the Route. We will leave the church before 7:30am and return after 12. More details will come as we get closer.
Yeehaw!! Lots going on!

Nicaragua Team Announcement
Hey Team,
Our meeting which was scheduled for 6pm-7pm this Sunday night will now be from 7pm-8pm. We are doing this to allow those of you involved with Trek/Journey to do both.
If your parents will be attending a home group Sunday night they can drop you off at the church a little before 6. I will be here and we'll hang out in the dining room next to the gym until the meeting starts.
To repeat
OUR MEETING SUNDAY NIGHT IS NOW 7PM TO 8PM IN THE YOUTH ROOM!
Bring your copy of "Walking His Trail". You should have read chapters 1 and 2 as well as the intro.
We will discuss ministry teams during our meeting. So be thinking about what you'd like to be involved in as far as VBS programing, music, sports, puppets etc.
If you haven't sent out your support letters you need to do that ASAP.
See you Wednesday!

I'm wearing flip flops...
...I know you don't actually care if I'm wearing flip flops or not, but flip flops mean that its getting warmer!
Hey since I've got your attention I wanted to share some about some of the stuff that's going on over the next several weeks and recap some of our recent teaching!
Dan Ernst just finished a series on knowing that our identity is in Christ as sons and daughters of the King! He encouraged us to allow this truth to spread through every area of our lives and let it impact how we live. He also promised old videos of me from my high school days, but did not deliver. : )
On Wednesdays we've digging into some questions from the teens. We looked at how the GOSPEL should impact our relationships. If we are letting the gospel change all of us, it will show in our relationships with our parents and friends. It will impact our decisions regarding our sexual purity and how we treat our significant others. The Gospel changes all of us when we understand why Christ died. We were reminded that Christ didn't die to save us from Hell. He died to provide Holy Spirit driven Gospel centered lives that cause people to look on us with awe and wonder when they see what God is doing in our lives!
I hope you followed all of that. : ) If not, we're talking about Angels, Satan and Demons for the next few weeks on Wednesdays.
This Sunday we start into the book of Philippians.

Saturday March 15th from 9:45-12:15. If you want to grab lunch after cleaning, bring $$. We'll be done with lunch by 1:15.
